Hurry up and wait

December 27th, 2013

Another quick post, because ... well, there's not much to update.

As expected, the stitches and staples came out today -- about a dozen thread stitches and 20 staples for the knee incision, an additional 26 staples at the hip site. But still no bending and no physical therapy of any kind other than the isometrics that have been the practice since the original surgery back in September.

Frustrating, but the hip socket held in place by screws and cement still needs time to set. We've been told that can take as long as three months for some patients, but in this case we're going to wait six to eight weeks and then go in for X-rays to see how things are progressing.

Regardless, the incision looks to be healing quite well! Just the sight of stitches and staples is kind of garish, though, so once again, no images to post. =)

Anyway, guess it's back to the chair for me!
